Privacy Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
TaleMontage creates travel films from photos and videos you choose. This policy explains what we collect, how we
use it, how long we keep it, and how to reach us. It applies to talemontage.com and app.talemontage.com.
What we collect
- The photos and videos you give us. You can share an album link, upload files from your device, or
choose photos and videos in your own Google Photos.
- Details inside those files. When each photo or video was taken, and where, if the file records
it. We use these to put your film in order and to show places and your route on a map.
- Your choices. The format, music, and other settings you pick, and the photos you choose for your
film.
- How our site is used. For each visit we note the kind of device and browser and the country,
region, and city it comes from. We don't keep your IP address. We keep only a scrambled form of it that can't be
turned back into the address, to share our servers fairly between people.
- One cookie. A random id in your browser, kept for a year, so the same browser takes its fair turn
in our queue. It holds nothing about you.
- What you write to us. If you send a suggestion, we keep its text.
Photos from Google Photos
When you choose "Choose in Google Photos", you sign in with Google and pick photos and videos in Google's own
picker. We receive only the photos and videos you pick. We can't see the rest of your library.
- We ask Google only for permission to see the photos and videos you select
(
photospicker.mediaitems.readonly).
- We download your selected photos and videos once, to create your film. We read the same details as for any
other photo: when and where it was taken.
- We don't ask for lasting access to your Google account. The permission you give lasts only while your photos
are brought over, and we don't store it.
- You can remove TaleMontage's access at any time in your Google Account, under Security, Your connections to
third-party apps & services.
TaleMontage's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use your photos and videos
We use them only to create your film and show it to you. We don't share or sell them. We don't use them to train
AI or machine learning models, and we don't use them for advertising. No person at TaleMontage looks at them, except
when you ask us for help with your film.
How long we keep them
Your photos, videos, and film are automatically deleted from our servers 24 hours after your film is ready. You can
delete them sooner: "Delete my photos now" on your film's page removes them at once. Your original album and your
Google Photos library are never changed.
Who else handles your data
Our servers run the film creation themselves. Cloudflare carries the traffic between your browser and our servers.
Map tiles and place names come from map services we ask with locations only, never your photos. We don't sell or
share your information with anyone else.
Your choices
- Delete your photos, videos, and film at any time from your film's page.
- Remove Google Photos access from your Google Account.
- Clear our cookie in your browser at any time.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at the address below.
Children
TaleMontage is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
